Chief Financial Officer

This Midlands based Construction and Civil Engineering company has just gone through a Management Buy Out and as a result are seeking an experienced private equity finance operator.  

The business has an outstanding reputation for the quality of service and works it provides to its customers, blue chip construction operators. It employs just over 750 direct and sub-contract staff and has a strong financial track record, increasing revenue from £48 million to more than £100 million in the last four years. Revenues and EBITDA are set to double over the next three to five years.

 

Role Description

The CFO will play a pivotal part in the planned rapid growth and expansion. The role will work as a true business to the CEO and Commercial Director. Providing more bandwidth to the senior management team and playing a critical part in the business’ decision making on both a day to day and long term basis.

The new CFO will be a trusted peer but will also need to be independent and required to challenge thinking and decision-making across the management team. It is expected that the successful candidate will be willing and able to make the difficult calls and be tough and demanding when necessary, but also able to guide and support colleagues effectively.

Requirements

Candidates will ideally have: 

  • Prior experience of working successfully with private equity
  • Construction or blue collar contract experience 
  • High intellectual horse power with an accounting qualification
