Commercial Director

This private equity backed food producer is experiencing positive year on year growth. With 40% of sales coming from international markets the time has come to introduce an International Commercial Manager to maximise sales opportunities in European Markets.

Role Description

  • To grow volume and penetration and profit in European markets
  • Drive the existing markets through management of the in market commercial teams
  • Build and implement commercial strategies. Specific customer plans and channel strategies
  • Identify product renovation and innovation opportunities
  • Deliver P&L targets


  • Commercially nimble with a good understanding of FMCG marketing
  • Strategic thinker
  • Practical business sense
  • Ability to multi task. Jump from one market with a specific set of challenges and then move onto another market where a different set of challenges need to be addressed
  • Ability to “work through others”
  • Ability to influence from a distance
  • Significant experience of working at increasingly senior commercial roles in FMCG
  • International experience with ideally exposure to multi-cultural environments
  • Experience at managing third parties and can demonstrate success working through in-market partners
  • Excellent project management skills
  • This role will involve a significant amount of international travel.
