Sales Director

A private equity backed technology solutions provider requires an experienced board level Sales Director to join an established team and grow the business not only in terms of sales & profits but also talent, services, revenue, channels, and competitive strengths.


Role Description

  • Manage and add to a team of over twenty sales and pre-sales professionals
  • Provide strategic direction for all direct sales and channel activities across the group, ensuring that the sales team have the appropriate level of understanding of all service offerings and can conduct initial conversation with customers on technical matters
  • Professionalise the sales function, adding structure and rigour where necessary and implementing the appropriate KPIs
  • Take responsibility for developing and delivering a direct and channel sales strategy
  • Develop close relationships with major existing customers, new customers and channel partners


  • Outstanding sales professional with a proven track record of delivering highly successful sales performance in a technology related B2B environment, with the experience and personal gravitas to play a lead role with significant partners and customers
  • Significant sales management experience, with demonstrable skills in attracting, recruiting, assessing, developing, reviewing and inspiring sales professionals
  • Previous experience of selling collocation/managed infrastructure services and connectivity services is highly desirable
  • Experience of B2B sales to large blue-chip enterprises and to SMEs
  • Experience of turning existing disparate sales and marketing teams into integrated, high performing units that use up to date techniques and technologies effectively
  • First-hand experience of running a sophisticated marketing team is highly desirable
  • Sufficient personal mobility and flexibility to ensure time is spent as needed anywhere in the UK, whether with customers, sales teams or management colleagues
